Cost should not be an obstacle to ride. Access to reliable transit should never depend on your income, age, or ability. A statewide Fair Fares program would provide reduced transit fares for lower-income riders.

Access to affordable, reliable transit should never depend on your income, age, or ability. Working families, students, seniors, people with disabilities, and other historically underserved communities deserve transportation that connects them to jobs, education, healthcare, and daily needs.
Every day, over 800,000 New Jersey residents rely on NJ TRANSIT to get to school, work, medical appointments, and essential services. Yet for many residents, the price of transit remains a significant barrier.
Too many New Jerseyans are forced to choose between paying for transit and meeting other basic needs, like rent, food, or healthcare.
As members of the Fare Fares NJ Campaign, we support the creation and funding of a statewide Fair Fares program that provides discounted transit fares for income-eligible riders on NJ TRANSIT.
Together, we can build a New Jersey where everyone has access to opportunity and mobility.
